Venezuelan desserts in Salt Lake City

About Sugar Rush

Origins

Hi, I’m Mireya! I grew up in Venezuela surrounded by the flavors that make our food culture so special, the richness of dulce de leche, the delicate layers of milhojas, the warmth of pan de guayaba fresh from the oven. When I moved to Utah, I brought those recipes with me and never stopped experimenting.

Our Story

What started as baking for friends and family turned into something I couldn’t stop. I spent years learning French and Italian pastry techniques and layering them with the Venezuelan traditions I grew up with. That fusion is Sugar Rush’s DNA, it’s why our milhojas tastes a little unexpected, and why our tres leches has that extra something.

In 2024, we opened our first physical kitchen in West Valley City. Today, we bake everything fresh on-site and serve the entire Salt Lake Valley! From custom wedding cakes to weekday treat boxes.

Influence

Sugar Rush style is founded in classic French and Italian desserts and bakery, as well as traditional Venezuelan bakery. The mixtures, the flavors are a fusion of what we have tasted and liked.

Shop & Catering

We started strong with custom cakes for special events such as birthdays and weddings, and tiny desserts to share at cocktail parties. Everything was around catering. In 2024, we expanded to our first physical store in West Valley, were we produce all of our products we serve in the Salt Lake Valley.
